The staff here at Renick Orthodontics wants to make your new patient experience as easy as possible so we’ve compiled a step by step guideline for you!
This section will introduce you to the process of getting braces and how to manage them once you have them. You’ll learn about separators and records. You’ll get instructions on how to take care of your braces by cleaning them (proper oral hygiene) and avoiding the wrong foods.
One of the big questions new patients have is "how long?" Tips will be given to shorten your treatment time and avoid things that may extend your treatment time.
Other questions not covered here may be addressed in the FAQs section if you don’t find them here.
STEP ONE: THE FIRST STEP IS UNDERSTANDING THAT YOU HAVE A PROBLEM – most people who come to see us realize they have a problem. This may have been explained to them by their general dentist who has directed them to seek a specialist with training OR they may have one day woken up and looked in a mirror and asked, “Can I fix this?”
STEP TWO: CONTACT US! This is where we come in. We offer a complimentary new patient exam. Our goal in this exam is to explain to you the problems we see, why they are a problem, and what we can do to create a healthy, functional, and beautiful smile for you.
You can either call us or fill out our online form (see below). We gather some information at this point. If you can provide insurance information at this stage, our staff will be happy to contact your company for you to ask about benefits if you haven’t done so already. We’d also like to know who your general dentist is because we like to keep them informed of your treatment and we’ll ask who we may thank for referring you to our office.
STEP THREE: ASK QUESTIONS. It’s important to us that you understand why we do what we do and the benefits our office can provide for you. This is your, or your child’s, health and well-being that we strive to establish and protect. You are a part of that treatment.
STEP FOUR: SCHEDULE YOUR START. This is the beginning of your journey with us. At this point, our staff will have walked you through the consult process, the contract, and the financial aspects of getting started. We look forward to having you become a part of our orthodontic family.
